About us

The Université Numérique Cheikh Hamidou KANE (ex UVS), with the support of the Mastercard Foundation, has set up an innovative program called FORCE-N “Formations Ouvertes pour le Renforcement des Compétences, de l'Emploi et de l'Entrepreneuriat dans le Numérique”.

Launched in November 2021 for a period of six years, FORCE-N aims to contribute to the structural transformation of Senegal's economy, notably through the promotion of an inclusive digital economy and the development of skills in digital professions. FORCE-N helps young people prepare for their professional careers or launch into digital entrepreneurship by offering a range of complementary training courses (employability, soft skills or life skills, English), coaching sessions, webinars and master classes with professionals, and opportunities for exchange and networking with companies and digital professionals. Through its STEMD component, FORCE-N supports Senegal's high schools and colleges in their efforts to achieve excellence in science, technology, mathematics and digital education by setting up computer rooms, practical work rooms and providing computers for S1 and S3 high school students. To this end, we have set up a learning platform for Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life and Earth Sciences, Technology, English, Philosophy and Digital Science, which can be accessed via the following link: sciences.force-n.sn. The STEMD component also organizes a series of activities in fields such as robotics, astronomy, programming, printing and more.

Mastercard Foundation

La Fondation Mastercard est une organisation philanthropique privée qui œuvre pour l’inclusion financière et l’accès équitable à l’emploi, notamment en Afrique. Elle travaille avec des organisations visionnaires pour permettre aux jeunes d'Afrique et aux communautés indigènes du Canada d'accéder à un travail digne, significatif et épanouissant. La Fondation a des bureaux à Toronto, Kigali, Accra, Nairobi, Kampala, Lagos, Dakar et Addis-Abeba.

L’Université numérique Cheikh Hamidou KANE (UN-CHK,ex UVS) est la première université numérique publique du Sénégal et de l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Créée en 2013, elle s’engage à élargir l’accès à un enseignement supérieur de qualité à tous, à travers notamment des plateformes numériques et ENO et des programmes flexibles. L’université porte le nom de Cheikh Hamidou Kane, grand commis de l’Etat, homme de lettres réputé et citoyen engagé.
